We live in a good country, but even here things aren’t right.
Broken families. Quiet addictions. Guilt we don’t talk about. Regret we carry alone.
We often blame bad luck, poor choices, or unfair circumstances. But the Bible says something deeper is wrong.
Through Adam’s sin, the world was cursed, and we now live with its effects. Sin isn’t just what we do. It’s the way the human heart has turned away from God.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
Sin brings hardship and separates us from a holy God. No amount of being nice or charitable can fix that gap.
Why Jesus Came
Jesus came because we could not save ourselves.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, lived without sin and died on the cross in our place, taking the judgment we deserved so we could be reconciled to God. This wasn’t an accident or some tragic story. It was God’s plan.
“For God so loved, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him must not perish, but have everlasting life.”
(John 3:16)
The Resurrection Changes Everything
Jesus didn’t stay in the grave after dying.
He rose bodily from the dead, proving sin was paid for, death was defeated, and salvation is real.
“…that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures…” (1 Corinthians 15:4)
What It Means to Be Saved
To be saved means:
- Your sins are forgiven
- You are made right with God
- You are given new life, not just new rules
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.” (Ephesians 2:8)
Jesus Is Coming Back
This same Jesus will return physically, not symbolically.
He will gather His elect, judge the world in righteousness, and make all things new.
That is good news for those who belong to Him and a serious warning for those who delay.
The question to ponder
You may be thinking, I am a good person, and I believe there is a God.
But have you confessed with your mouth that Jesus is Lord?
“For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
(Romans 10:10)
Prayer
If you want to take this bold step to be reconciled to God, pray sincerely with me:
God, I admit that I am a sinner and cannot save myself.
I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins and rose again.
I turn away from my sin and trust Jesus as my Lord and Saviour.
Forgive me, give me new life, and help me follow You.
In Jesus name. Amen.
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
